Housemates of Big Brother Naija Season 10, themed BBNaija: 10/10, have suffered their first setback in the reality show after failing their initial wager task of the season.
The announcement was made by Big Brother, also known as Biggie, during the housemates’ wager presentation on Friday. As a result of the loss, contestants will face reduced access to food supplies and other privileges throughout the week.
The task required the housemates to recreate an “unmasking” show aligned with a ball-themed concept, complete with costumes and theatrical performances. However, Big Brother expressed disappointment in their execution.
“Such an unremarkable performance,” Biggie declared.
“Your presentation lacked imagination and substance. Big Brother’s verdict will be as disappointing as your performance — you have lost your wager.”
In addition to the loss, Biggie warned the housemates about delayed responses and microphone rule violations.
Despite efforts to showcase creativity and teamwork, the performance was disjointed and failed to meet expectations. Head of House, Jason Jae, had earlier urged his fellow housemates to maintain focus and energy, but the final delivery lacked structure and intent.
Following the performance, housemate Koyin attempted to address the group, prompting Biggie to request a self-evaluation. Jason Jae and Rooboy acknowledged their shortcomings, but Biggie swiftly delivered his verdict.
Interestingly, housemate Thelma had anticipated the outcome during her diary session, humorously preparing a hearty meal in advance.
“The way these people are going, it doesn’t look like they’ll win the wager. So let me cook Egusi soup and hot eba before we enter the arena,” she said.
“If we lose, at least we had a good meal.”
With the stakes now higher, the housemates must prepare for a more challenging week ahead with limited welfare.
According to show organisers, MultiChoice, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10 will walk away with a grand prize worth ₦150 million, including cash and sponsored rewards.
