The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has restated its willingness to welcome Governor Abba Yusuf into the party, ahead of his expected defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
The APC’s state chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, made this known in Kano on Tuesday, describing the move as one driven by unity, reconciliation, and the broader interest of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the party’s national leader, Abdullahi Ganduje, Abbas said the invitation to Governor Yusuf was aimed at fostering a more united and prosperous Kano.
“The APC is ready to receive Governor Yusuf with open arms so we can pool our strengths for the development of Kano State,” he said.
Abbas added that once the governor formally joins the party, he and other NNPP leaders will be admitted into the APC under Ganduje’s leadership, in a spirit of mutual respect and shared responsibility.
