The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Bauchi State Chapter has removed its chairman, Hassan Haruna, from office following the 14-day expiration period given to him to appeal his suspension.
Naija News recalls that the ADC suspended Haruna, citing a breach of the ADC’s constitution and anti-party activities as the reasons for his suspension and urged him to stop parading himself in such a position to avoid further legal or disciplinary consequences.
In a circular dated February 2nd 2026, the party stated that Haruna resorted to escalating his unconstitutional activities rather than responding to the allegations levelled against him.
According to the party, Haruna was responsible for publishing a fake list of 20 handpicked individuals as the new set of parallel local government chairmen of ADC.
The party further stated that while its National Chairman, Atiku Abubakar, was meeting in Abuja with other stakeholders on the party’s growth, Haruna summoned a meeting on the same day, calling the recognised state party leadership bandits.
ADC leadership ordered Harun to handover to the Deputy Chairman, Hassan Tabla, with immediate effect.
The party also rejected the purported resignation of the original ADC secretary in Bauchi state, stressing that the appointment of Mallam Ya’u by Haruna is considered invalid and null and void.
