The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has secured a new venue for its national convention after facing difficulties obtaining approval for major locations in Abuja.
Kola Ologbondiyan, chairman of the convention’s media and publicity sub-committee, confirmed that the event, scheduled for Tuesday, will now take place at Rainbow Event Centre in the Abuja.
According to him, the party did not receive any response from the Federal Capital Territory Administration regarding its requests to use Eagle Square or Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
The ADC had earlier alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was frustrating its efforts to secure a venue.
Meanwhile, speculation also trailed Transcorp Hilton Abuja, with claims circulating online that the hotel denied the party access under government influence. The hotel strongly refuted the allegation, stating that no booking was ever made and that there was no available slot when an inquiry was submitted.
In its response, the hotel described the circulating claims as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard the narrative.
