Nigerian reality TV star and entrepreneur, Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has earned two new Guinness World Records for her exceptional makeup artistry.
According to Naija News, the recognition follows her remarkable feat on October 11, when she completed the highest number of individual cosmetic makeovers within 24 hours. The event, held in Lagos, featured Tacha working behind a transparent glass wall, drawing attention from admirers and passersby.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Tacha revealed that she achieved 82 makeovers within the first eight hours and completed a total of 144 within 24 hours — surpassing the previous record set by Mary Yongai of Sierra Leone.
Each participant received a full makeover, which included foundation, concealer, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, lip liner, gloss, eyebrow styling, and finishing powder.
The event, however, was not without hurdles. A severe nine-hour storm damaged equipment and branding materials, while power outages forced the team to rely on phone flashlights to continue. Despite these challenges, Tacha and her crew persevered to complete the task within the set timeframe.
Guinness World Records later confirmed her success, officially awarding her two titles and acknowledging her determination and artistry.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Tacha described the achievement as a blend of joy, relief, and pride. She dedicated the record to young girls, creatives, and dreamers, encouraging Nigerians and African women to pursue their ambitions and showcase their brilliance on the world stage.
