Former Besiktas defender, Emre Eren, has predicted that Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen could command a transfer fee of up to €150 million if he maintains his current form this season, according to Soccernet.ng.
Osimhen, who completed a permanent move to Galatasaray this summer for €75 million, has quickly become a fan favourite in Istanbul. The transfer shocked many, as the 26-year-old Nigerian had long been linked with elite European clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG, Barcelona, Liverpool, and Juventus.
Galatasaray, however, won the race for his signature, leveraging the bond Osimhen built with supporters during his successful loan spell last season. His arrival marked a record-breaking moment for both the club and Turkish football, becoming the most expensive signing in their history.
The Super Eagles forward has justified the investment, netting goals in consecutive UEFA Champions League matches against Liverpool and Bodo/Glimt. His performances helped Galatasaray secure their first back-to-back victories in the competition since 2012 and made him Nigeria’s highest-ever scorer in the Champions League.
With six points from three group games, the Turkish champions are now on track to qualify for the knockout stages while maintaining dominance in the Super Lig.
Eren, now a football pundit in Turkey, praised Osimhen’s performances, saying:
“Victor Osimhen is a completely different player. If he continues to play like this in the Champions League, they would pay €150 million for this guy!”
As Osimhen enters his prime, speculation continues about a possible big-money move. Chelsea remain in search of a reliable striker, Barcelona reportedly view him as a future replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and Manchester United are still battling inconsistency in attack. Juventus have also shown interest, though financial clauses in his Galatasaray contract could pose a challenge.
For now, Osimhen appears content in Istanbul, where his blistering form continues to fuel Galatasaray’s ambitions — and may soon turn him into Europe’s next €150 million football star.
