Polaris Bank has renewed its commitment to supporting the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in combating drug abuse, trafficking, and money laundering.

The Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Kayode Lawal, made this pledge during a visit by a 15-member NDLEA delegation to the Bank’s headquarters in Lagos last Wednesday.

Polaris Bank has consistently backed NDLEA initiatives. It has sponsored public awareness campaigns, supported drug rehabilitation programs, and provided tools to boost the agency’s operations.

Mr. Lawal highlighted the Bank’s dedication to social impact. He stated, “Polaris Bank stands for more than profit. We are here to protect our communities and promote public safety.”

He emphasized that this partnership reflects shared values. According to him, the Bank’s support goes beyond regulatory compliance. It is a moral duty to help tackle critical social challenges.

In recognition of this commitment, the NDLEA team decorated Mr. Lawal and Polaris Bank’s Chief Compliance Officer, Charles Oso. The agency commended their roles in strengthening anti-drug and anti-money laundering systems.

The NDLEA delegation was led by the Director of Assets and Financial Investigation. Representing Chairman/CEO Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), he praised Polaris Bank for its enduring support. He also acknowledged the Bank’s impact on the agency’s outreach and rehabilitation efforts.

Under Brig. Gen. Marwa’s leadership, NDLEA has expanded its advocacy programs and introduced toll-free helplines for drug-related assistance. The agency credited partners like Polaris Bank for helping sustain these efforts.

Several Polaris Bank executives attended the event. Executive Directors Chris Ofikulu, Abimbola Ozomah, and Sharafadeen Muhammed joined the MD in welcoming the NDLEA team.

Polaris Bank has earned recognition as Nigeria’s Digital Bank of the Year from 2021 to 2024. The Bank remains committed to inclusive growth, social responsibility, and a safer society for all.
