Family members and close friends of legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, have expressed deep concerns over his recent actions and statements.
Naija News reports that the music star sparked heavy backlash after he claimed that men are not wired to be sexually committed to just one woman. According to him, “Men are not built to be with one woman sexually. A man can love one woman and still desire others.”
Following the public outrage, 2Baba released an emotional apology to his wife, Natasha Osawaru, his children, and his fans. He said, “I messed up. I know I’m going to pay a heavy price. I disappointed a lot of people, my fans, my family, especially my wife, Natasha.”
The singer admitted his words were a “poor attempt to explain male psychology” but insisted, “There’s no excuse. I take full responsibility.”
However, in an interview with Punch, some of his siblings and friends said his apology confirmed their fears that he might not be in the right state of mind. They alleged that his phone had been hacked, with important messages and information deleted before he could access them.
A source close to the family said, “This matter is becoming more worrisome for us by the day. Do you know people came from different places, including the United States, just to meet with him? Yet, he never showed up, despite promising he would.
“This is not the Innocent we know. He seems like someone being controlled to do certain things he normally wouldn’t.
“We are not happy that he has practically abandoned his family, businesses, and everything in Lagos to relocate to Edo State. He is also unreachable, and that is very unlike him.”
