Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State have thrown their support behind Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second-term ambition, praising his leadership and grassroots development efforts.

The decision came during a special caucus meeting in Iyin Ekiti, where top party figures, including former governors Niyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi, joined party executives and lawmakers to give their unanimous endorsement.

Party Leaders Applaud Oyebanji’s Inclusive Governance

Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adeoye Aribasoye, who moved the motion, described the governor as a servant-leader. According to him, Oyebanji’s focus on people-centered policies has boosted the APC’s popularity.

“Governor Oyebanji has shown true commitment to the welfare of our people,” Aribasoye said. “His performance speaks for itself, and the people trust his leadership.”

State APC Chairman, Sola Elesin, credited the governor with making the party more appealing across Ekiti. He highlighted major progress in infrastructure, rural electrification, healthcare, agriculture, and youth initiatives.

“No community feels left behind,” Elesin added. “His administration has touched lives in every corner of the state.”

Fayemi and Adebayo Join Chorus of Support

Former Governor Kayode Fayemi praised the governor’s consistent delivery, stating that his impact resonates everywhere.

“Wherever we go, it’s BAO. He’s been steady in his efforts, and I remain in touch with him regularly,” Fayemi said.

Similarly, Niyi Adebayo emphasized the caucus’s unity behind Oyebanji.

“We are all satisfied with his performance,” Adebayo stated. “He deserves another term, and we stand behind him.”

Governor Responds with Gratitude and Confidence

In his response, Governor Oyebanji thanked party leaders for their trust. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the state and building on the progress made so far.

Addressing concerns about political realignments outside the APC, Oyebanji remained unfazed.

“We’re not disturbed,” he said. “This is politics. Opponents will try to distract, whether through lies or propaganda. But we stay focused on our mission.”

The endorsement sends a strong message of unity within Ekiti APC, setting a confident tone as the 2026 election approaches.
