According to a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Friday, the President’s first stop will be France.

Tinubu will thereafter travel to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 and May 12.

The summit will be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

It will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and reforms of the global financing architecture.

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will bring together African and French leaders to discuss economic transformation, infrastructure, youth empowerment and peace-building.

The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with African nations and France.

After the Nairobi summit, the president will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to May 15.

The forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” will focus on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional integration and cross-border investment.

Held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the event is expected to attract more than 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers.

At both summits, Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a leading investment destination.

He will also hold meetings with African and global business leaders.

The president will be accompanied by some ministers and senior aides. He is expected back in Nigeria after the Rwanda summit. (NAN)
