The Kano State Government has demanded the arrest of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over what it described as inflammatory remarks linked to recent security concerns in the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made the call while briefing journalists on the resolutions reached at the State Executive Council meeting.
Waiya alleged that less than 48 hours after Ganduje reportedly made comments about forming a militia group, armed bandits invaded a community in Kano and abducted several residents.
He added that the government views the timing of the attack as disturbing and called on security agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The commissioner also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued efforts to protect lives and property in Kano State.
