Two sisters sparked chaos at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday after missing their NG Eagle flight, resulting in a heated argument and physical altercation.

According to Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the women went on a rampage, scattering luggage and other items across the terminal in the process.

Airport security personnel quickly intervened, escorting the sisters to the interrogation office. However, tensions escalated further, and the siblings continued to fight until one of them fainted.

Sharing the incident on his official X account, @mikeachimugu01, Achimugu described it as “the strangest thing” he had witnessed at the airport.

He added that despite the fainting, the other sister refused medical assistance, claiming that the situation was “spiritual” rather than physical. The collapsed sister is currently receiving care at the FAAN clinic.

“Perhaps one sister blamed the other for missing the flight,” Achimugu noted. “Regardless, this is not how such situations should be handled. We hope she makes a full recovery.”
