Fidelity Bank Supports Ondo Communities with Food Donations

Fidelity Bank Plc has delivered food items to residents of Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas in Ondo State. This initiative aims to improve community well-being and support vulnerable populations.

At a donation event in Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area, Mr. Folaranmi Jemirin, Regional Head, Southwest 1, Fidelity Bank Plc, explained that the Fidelity Food Bank program addresses hunger and provides relief to disadvantaged communities across Nigeria.

“We are delighted to bring this initiative to Ondo State. We hope today’s donation brings comfort and relief to the beneficiaries,” Mr. Jemirin said.

 

Community Leaders Praise Fidelity Bank

Mrs. Olurantimi Esejuwon, Vice Chairman of Ilaje Local Government Area, praised the bank’s support, especially for the elderly and persons with disabilities.

“This gesture is a lifeline for many families struggling to meet basic needs. Fidelity Bank shows genuine care beyond financial services,” she said.

Hon. Biyi Poroye, Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), also commended the bank. He encouraged Fidelity Bank to open a branch in Ilaje, citing the area’s strong economic potential.

Pastor Ikudehinbu Ademola, representing the beneficiaries, thanked the bank on behalf of the communities.

“Many families here will sleep with joy tonight thanks to this kind gesture. We hope Fidelity Bank considers opening a branch in Ilaje to bring its services closer,” Ademola said.

The Ondo State distribution continues Fidelity Bank’s Fidelity Food Bank outreach. Previously, the program provided essential supplies to over 2,000 residents across several communities in Anambra State.

Fidelity Bank Plc serves more than 9.1 million customers through digital platforms, 255 business offices in Nigeria, and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.

The bank has won numerous awards, including the 2024 Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award (BusinessDay BAFI Awards), 2024 Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application Award (Global Business Outlook), and 2024 Most Innovative Investment Banking Service Provider Award (Global Brands Magazine). It also earned recognition as Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria (Euromoney Awards for Excellence) and Export Financing Bank of the Year (BAFI Awards).
