Nutritionists and public health experts have urged Nigerians to prioritise healthier cooking oil choices to curb the country’s rising cases of heart disease, obesity, and other non-communicable diseases.

Speaking at a recent health and wellness forum in Lagos, Dr. Joy Udoh, a public health nutritionist and food safety specialist, emphasised the importance of shifting to unsaturated oils. She said, “The average Nigerian market is vibrant with colours, scents, and lively banter. Amid these bustling scenes, cooking oil remains one of the most debated products. Despite the numerous brands jostling for consumer attention, Golden Terra Oil has steadily gained the trust of Nigerian households.”

Felicia Ojo, another nutritionist, noted that the type of oil used in cooking plays a critical role in health outcomes. She explained that Golden Terra Oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), which help lower bad cholesterol and support heart health. “Alongside PUFA, it contains monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and Vitamin E, ensuring Nigerians can cook delicious traditional meals while protecting their health,” she added.

Probal Bhattachary, Chief Marketing Officer of TGI Group, said, “It’s rewarding to see Nigerians embrace not just our products but also the values they represent. The positive feedback, rising sales, and heartfelt responses to our campaigns motivate us to continue providing quality and educating consumers. Nigerians deserve the best, and we are committed to delivering it.”
