Nigeria Under Spiritual Siege — Archbishop Bassey Declares

Archbishop Josef Bassey, Presiding Priest of God’s Heritage Centres Worldwide, has declared that Nigeria is under siege, not just politically, but spiritually. Speaking at a prophetic intercessory meeting, he warned that invisible thrones and ancestral altars are manipulating the nation’s destiny.

Known for his boldness and militant tone, Bassey didn’t hold back. He accused many church leaders of forming alliances with corrupt political forces, saying:

“Nigeria is not just broken politically; it is invaded spiritually. Until true prophets rise to govern, we will keep crowning Saul and expecting David.”

He tied the country’s deepening crises, including kidnappings, ritual killings, youth hopelessness, and economic stagnation, to spiritual decay. He added that committees and policies cannot solve what he calls “a spiritual occupation masquerading as politics.”

Bassey cited grim data: over 63,000 violent deaths recorded between 2015 and 2023, and Nigeria’s ranking among the five worst-hit nations in youth unemployment. He responded sharply:

“You don’t cast out demons with government panels. The altars in Aso Rock, state houses, and even some pulpits must come down. We need righteous governance.”

In a rare public rebuke, Bassey condemned prominent religious figures for what he called “strategic silence and spiritual compromise.” According to him:

“Some church fathers have traded their mantles for political dinner plates. They’ve become chaplains to Jezebel’s throne instead of prophets to the nation.”

He demanded a return to bold prophetic voices, Elijahs who call down fire and confront corrupt systems without fear.

“You don’t need altar calls at campaign rallies. You need repentance and the dismantling of wicked altars.”

Bassey proposed forming a national spiritual legislative body, a coalition of fire-tested prophets and apostles from across Nigeria. Their task? To legislate spiritually, guard the nation’s atmosphere, and hold leaders accountable to divine order.

“This isn’t about religion. It’s about spiritual government. Until the prophets return to the gates, Nigeria will stay under Babylon’s grip.”

A New Generation Rising

The Archbishop also referenced The God Breed, a prophetic movement of young, uncompromising voices emerging from prayer altars, churches, and campuses. According to him, they’re “governors in training” who won’t bow to Baal or feast at Jezebel’s table.

“God is bypassing the old order. He’s rejecting Eli and raising Samuel. Deliverance won’t come from manifestos. It’ll come from a movement.”

Bassey ended his message by announcing the upcoming Fire World Conference, a global gathering of prophetic and apostolic leaders. Scheduled for June 18–22, 2025, in Calabar, the event carries the theme “Govern the Earth.” It aims to spark a global fire revolution and raise spiritual reformers to influence nations.

“We’re done negotiating with darkness. This isn’t just a conference, it’s a spiritual parliament of fire.”

In a nation groaning for redemption, Archbishop Josef Bassey isn’t calling for another election, he’s calling for a prophetic revolution.
