More than 1,500 residents of Kabuga in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State have received essential food supplies through Fidelity Bank’s Fidelity Food Bank initiative, aimed at supporting vulnerable communities during Ramadan.

The outreach, organized in partnership with Misnoory Foundation, aligns with the bank’s commitment to social responsibility and poverty alleviation. Fidelity Bank staff personally distributed food items to ensure direct impact on the beneficiaries.

Bank’s Commitment to Fighting Hunger

Speaking at the event, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head, Brands and Communications, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, emphasized the initiative’s role in addressing food insecurity.

“Social responsibility is at the heart of who we are as a bank. The Fidelity Food Bank was launched to support vulnerable groups and alleviate hunger as part of our commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 2, which seeks to achieve zero hunger,” he said.

Since its inception in April 2023, the Fidelity Food Bank has provided over 150,000 food packs across Nigeria, targeting widows, children, and underprivileged families. The Kabuga outreach, specifically timed for Ramadan, focused on ensuring that families had access to basic food items during the fasting period.

Founder of Misnoory Foundation, Maryam Isa Inuwa, praised Fidelity Bank’s continued partnership in humanitarian efforts.

“Fidelity Bank is one of the major sponsors of our outreach programs. Their commitment to poverty alleviation aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are proud to collaborate in bringing relief to communities in need,” she stated.
