Many trapped as fire guts WAEC headquarters building in Lagos
An early morning fire on Wednesday gutted the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) office in Yaba, Lagos.
While the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained, Vondigest learnt the inferno started at about 6.50 am, and flames burst out in the middle of the high-rise building.
As of 7.15 am according to Vanguard, the cause of the fire was still unknown. It was reported that the fire broke out from the middle of the high-rise building and those trapped in the building were seen frantically calling for help.
However, officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders have arrived at the scene in an attempt to put out the raging fire.
