Top Nigerian musicians, Wizkid, Burnaboy, Tems, Made and Femi Kuti among other African artists have made the nomination list for the 2022 Grammy.
2022 Grammy Awards show, officially known as the 64th Grammy Awards will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022.
Among the Nigerian artists, Wizkid and Femi Kuti got two nominations for Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance.
For the category of Best Global Music Performance, the list includes artists like: Arooj Aftab, Angelique Kidjo, Burnaboy, Femi Kuti, Yo-Yo Ma and Wizkid ft Tems.
For category for Best Global Music Album, the musicians that got the nominations are: Rocky Dawuni, Angelique Kidjo, Femi Kuti, Made Kuti and Wizkid.
Nigerians on social media are already sending their congratulations in advance to Wizkid after tweets of his nomination came out.
Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ Deluxe edition got nominated for the “Best Global Music Album”.
While the song with Tems, ‘Essence’ got nominated for “Best Global Music Performance”
This “Best Global Music Performance was the same category that Burna Boy won the Grammy last year.
