“Whoever Is Agitating For Biafra Shows A Level Of Madness”- Reverend Uma Ukpai
Nigerian popular clergyman, Reverend Uma Ukpai has faulted those agitating for the actualisation of Biafra. The clergyman suggested that such people are dealing with mental illness
Reverend Uma Ukpai has condemned secessionist groups agitating for the actualisation of Biafra. The renowned cleric described people supporting the agitation as mad people, The Nation reported. He made the statement at the headquarters of his ministry.
According to Ukpai: “There will always be crazy people; even when people are seen to be normal. Whoever is agitating for Biafra shows the level of his madness, but everybody is mad, the difference is the level of your madness.”
He pointed out that the country cannot make any progress until Nigerians begin to love each other. Reverend Ukpai said: “As a nation until we love one another, we cannot notice one another, only when we love that which we have, that we can develop. But in Nigeria, we don’t care whether others eat or not. If we have no respect for one another, it also mean we don’t care whether others exist or not.”
The clergyman also spoke about the clamour for restructuring by the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Adeboye. He said Adeboye must have made the comments based on his experience from the civil war.
