A New Jersey businesswoman repeatedly sexually abused an underage boy and sent him nude images of herself over three months, according to authorities.
Tara Carr, 46, of Woodstown, is accused of performing sex acts on a 14-year-old boy multiple times inside her car.
Carr, who once owned a hugely successful summer camp for 900 children and a cheerleading squad, was investigated after the teen spoke with police.
She owned a stunning four-bedroom, three-bathroom home worth $600,000 in Woodstown, which was sold just last month.
The alleged child molester is married to Michael Carr, a marketing executive at his wife’s family’s firm Rastelli Foods Group.
According to court documents seen by 6abc, police had been notified of the married mother-of-three’s alleged behaviour last May before arresting her on January 9, 2025.
The teenager told investigators that he had a sexual relationship with her and that she frequently sent him explicit messages and images on Snapchat.
Authorities say she would pick the boy up from his school before sexually assaulting him multiple times around Marlton Park, Pilesgrove, and Mannington Township.
Carr admitted to sending the images to the teen while she was interviewed, according to a criminal complaint.
Investigators also obtained her cellphone, searched her car and gained access to her Snapchat account which confirmed the teen’s accusations, officials said.
A spokesperson for Rastelli Kids Complex said that she had worked in management and did not interact with children.
They also said she stood down last year. In a statement, they said: “There were no charges filed against her when these allegations first came to light, and despite rumours, no previous charges were ever filed.
“Moreover, the RKC management team had no knowledge of the extent of the allegations until the complaint, and neither owner has been questioned by the police concerning these allegations.
“Since 2007 until these allegations, Tara Carr worked seasonally as part of a larger management team for Camp Sam.
“At no time has Tara ever held a management position, coach position, or role other than a parent in SJS.
“Tara’s limited overall role with the RKC facility ended in May 2024 when she resigned and forfeited all ownership.
“To be clear, these allegations do not involve any employees, campers, athletes or members of our RKC community. The alleged victim in the charging document was not involved in any RKC program.”
She is also linked with Camp Sam, which is part of the Rastelli Kids Complex and South Jersey Storm cheerleading squad.
Allison Reimer, a mother from Sewell, New Jersey, told 6abc: “It kind of makes you lose faith in the community.
“To send your kids to sports and you hear all kinds of things, from coaches and teachers. It’s scary.”
Anthony Musitano added: “That’s just kind of crazy that someone would ever do that.”
Carr is currently in jail in Salem County and is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing this Wednesday, Jan. 15.
