President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Jigawa state, Malam Umar Namadi, following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
Hajiya Maryam, a revered matriarch of the Namadi family, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and was laid to rest in her hometown of Kafin Hausa in accordance with Islamic rites.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised the late Hajiya Maryam for her lifelong commitment to community service and philanthropy.
He encouraged her family to honour her memory by continuing her charitable endeavors, thereby preserving her legacy of generosity and service.
The president also conveyed a message of comfort to Governor Namadi and the entire family, urging them to find solace in the enduring good name and positive impact Hajiya Maryam left behind.
“President Bola Tinubu has condoled with the Jigawa State governor, Malam Umar Namadi, over the passing of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
“Hajiya Maryam, who was the family’s matriarch, died on Wednesday, December 25. She has been buried according to Islamic rites in the governor’s hometown of Kafin Hausa.
“President Tinubu extolled the deceased’s community service and strongly encouraged her family to immortalise her by continuing her philanthropic undertakings, thereby ensuring her legacy lives on.
“In a comforting message, the president urged Governor Namadi and other family members who survived the deceased to take solace in the enduring good name left behind by her”, the statement said.
