Third Edition of Yagazie Foundation YES Camp Initiative Holds at Abuja Stadium
The third edition of the Yagazie Foundation, YES Camp Initiative took place on Sunday the 10th of December 2023 at the football training pitch by the Main Bowl of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
It is a powerful and systematic platform used to raise awareness against adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and gender-based violence (GBV) and to commemorate Human Rights Week in Nigeria.
Nosa Igiebor, the Nigerian International and the Ambassador of the Yagazie Foundation did the official opening kickoff exactly by 3:00pm with the statement below:
“As an Ambassador of Yagazie Foundation, I am delighted to be part of the Yagazie Foundation YES Camp Initiative, which plays a key role in expanding the support of child protection for children affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences and Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria by exposing developing children with sporting and social skills which will enhance their cognitive skills.”
After his speech, the children were divided into different segments of activities inside the camp. They were switching to participate in all the following program’s below:
Drawing and Painting, Football Drills, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV),
Human Rights Lecture, and Lecture on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM).
-The football drills were conducted by Nigerian International, Nosa Igiebor (MON) and the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State Youth and Sports development, Hon. Dr. Elizabeth Idoko-Okogun.
-The drawing and painting was conducted by Abubakar Ugbedeojo Hauwa, Ojochide Aminu Fatima, Menahem Jimmy Pam, Okechukwu Oji, Mojoyinade Adegoroye, and Adedeji O Adegoroye.
-The Lecture on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) was conducted by Mrs. Ezirim Monica.
-The Lecture on Human Rights was conducted by Omobolanle Precious Dada, ESQ.
-The Lecture on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), was conducted by Kennedy Ezirim, the Coordinator of the Yagazie Foundation YES Camp Initiative.
The Ambassador of the Yagazie Foundation YES Camp Initiative, Nosa Igiebor during his Lectures on Football Drills said the following:
“I will provide some football drills to help address the problem of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by teaching them some helpful football skills that will enhance their cognition and mental health, they are:
-Accurate Passing
-Proper ball control
-and successful dribbling.
and Small Sided Games (SSG) to practice the three drills wey you teach them.
