See statement that got man stoned, set ablaze in Abuja over alleged Blasphemy
A man was stoned and set ablaze over alleged blasphemy in Lugbe, Abuja, Vondigest reports.
The lynching took place on Saturday afternoon, June 4, 2022, at the Lugbe Timber Shed, along Airport Road in Abuja following an argument over alleged blasphemy.
Police reportedly arrived at the scene and fired shots to disperse the crowd that had gathered to watch the man burn.
Sadly, it was too late to save the victim.
However, an eye witness stating what transpired said that the Vigilante who was killed told a suya seller to close his shop for the night since it was close to 12-midnight deadline on Friday night, but he insisted he won’t and that he wants to make further sales in the morning. He reportedly told the suya seller that even if he was with his prophet, he would still arrest him for not abiding to the 12-midnight deadline, adding that we are all governed by laws.
“Even if you were here with the prophet, I will still arrest you because we are governed by laws.”
This comment reportedly got the mob angry and as he was returning to work this afternoon, they attacked him, stoned him and set him ablaze.
