President-elect, Bola Tinubu relocates to Defence House Abuja
Following his victory in the presidential election last Saturday, Bola Tinubu will relocate to the Defence Guest House in Abuja’s Maitama District, Vondigest reports.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate will be based at the Defence Guest House until May 29, 2023, when he will be sworn in as President.
A tweet by APC presidential campaign council on Thursday reads;
The President-elect will be moving into Defence House, in Maitama, FCT, where he will spend the next couple of months, and from where he will move into the Presidential Villa.
This comes just hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented Tinubu with the certificate of return in Abuja.
Tinubu received the award after defeating the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and several others.
As President-elect, Tinubu will receive briefings from the Defence House and attend key meetings.
In an interview with Punch, Festus Keyamo, the APC PCC Spokesperson, said he could not confirm when Tinubu will move into his new home.
President Muhammadu Buhari stayed at the same hotel in 2015, months before his inauguration on May 29, 2015.
Following that, he relocated to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja as his official residence.
