Vondigest reports that the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari was attacked by some residents in Kano earlier today during his visit to the state.
During the attack, a helicopter in his convoy was also stoned by the angry residents. This was captured in a video shared oon social media.
President Buhari is currently in the state to commission some projects. During the visit, some Kano residents were spotted in videos shared online, throwing stones at the helicopter and chanting “Bamayi” (we don’t want).
This is coming days after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje asked Buhari to postpone his visit due to security issues that may arise from the hardship Nigerians are facing due to the Naira swap deadline and fuel scarcity.
Vondigest recalls that this is not the first time the president’s convoy will be facing such mishap. It would be recalled that during his visit to Katsina some months back, his advance team was attacked by gunmen, affecting some police officers.
