Police Operatives Nab Suspected Railway Vandals
In line with Operation Puff Adder of the Inspector General Police, IGP Mohammed A. Adamu, NPM, mni, the Railway Police Command has stepped up its game to getting rid of vandals all over railway infrastructures nationwide. This has yielded positive results as several vandals who specialize in the act of vandalism have been arrested across the Divisions, as follows.
Railway Division Jos: Arrest of three male suspects by the officers and men of Jos Division of the Railway Command. The suspects who were arrested at Anglo Jos behind Nasco Company, Jos, Plateau State, were in a tricycle (Keke) with Reg. No. BUU 831 VC, loaded with nine railway slippers, property of the Nigerian Railway Corporation. They include: Joseph Mark ‘M’ 28 years, Felix Monday Goyit, ‘M’ 29 years and Emanuel Japdung, ‘M’ 25 years, all of Jos South LGA, Plateau State.
Railway Division Osogbo: In the same vain, one Abdul Hamid 23 years and Mustapha Ilias were arrested by the Officers and Men of Osogbo Railway Division, while vandalizing rail track, by removing rail clips. Exhibit recovered are two black bagco bags, containing the rail iron clips, along Ikirun Area of the Osun State. Suspects have been arraigned in court.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday, warned vandals and other criminally minded individuals to desist from such act or stay away from the command, as the police are ever ready to flush out such criminal elements from the command. He therefore solicits the cooperation of members of the public, to volunteer useful information, as the command cannot do it alone.
