President Bola Tinubu has felicitated with Governor Aiyedatiwa on his victory.
He also commended the peaceful conduct of the process on Sunday.
Tinubu conveyed his congratulatory message in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled ‘President Tinubu congratulates Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on the election in Ondo State.’
The President congratulated Aiyedatiwa and other candidates for the maturity and sense of purpose demonstrated during the campaigns and the election, attributing the success of the polls to the civility in the state.
“He enjoins the political actors to allow their orderly conduct to permeate the post-election activities and processes.
“President Tinubu believes the Ondo State election was another litmus test of the capacity of the Independent National Electoral Commission, affirming that the electoral body justified the confidence of the people with early preparations, deployment of staff and materials, and handling of the electoral process,” the statement read.
The President also commended INEC for the efficiency of uploading more than 98 per cent of results on the same day of the elections.
He extended his appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Youth Service Corps, the military and other security outfits for their professionalism in maintaining peace and order.
Tinubu urged candidates dissatisfied with the outcome of the election to explore the opportunities provided by the judicial system to seek redress in areas of conflict.
Similarly, the APC felicitated Aiyedatiwa for winning his re-election with a landslide victory in the poll.
This was disclosed in a congratulatory message issued in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka.
Morka also applauded the residents of the state, saying Aiyedatiwa’s victory clearly proved that his administration’s policies and campaign message of hope resonated well with the electorate.
He added, “With this renewed mandate, we are confident that you will build upon your accomplishments, and take the state to even greater heights of social and economic development for the benefit of the good people of Ondo state.
“We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for their professionalism and patriotism in the discharge of their constitutional roles during the election.
“We thank the Ondo electorate for their sustained and highly valued support of our great Party.”
The APC candidate was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission after sweeping the 18 local government areas in Ondo.
Governors Dikko Radda of Katsina, Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe and Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, also saluted Aiyedatiwa over his victory.
Yahaya in a statement by the Director-General, Press Affairs, Gombe Government House, Ismaila Misilli, described Aiyedatiwa’s win as a well-deserved triumph which reflects the trust and confidence the Ondo electorate has in his leadership.
The governor particularly noted that “the margin of victory is a clear indication of the widespread support for the APC governance model and its national leadership under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which continues to resonate with the Nigerian populace.”
Radda in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammad, stated, “This victory reflects the trust and confidence that the good people of Ondo State have placed in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, particularly following the remarkable legacy of our departed brother, former Governor Arakunrin Akeredolu. ‘’
He further praised the people of Ondo State for their peaceful conduct during the election, noting that their choice reflects their commitment to sustainable development and good governance.
“The peaceful and decisive manner in which the people of Ondo State exercised their democratic rights is commendable and worthy of emulation,” he remarked.
The governor expressed confidence that Aiyedatiwa’s administration will build on existing achievements and initiate new developments that will further enhance the lives of Ondo residents.
Ododo in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser, Ismail lsah, ascribed the APC’s victory to hard work and strategic planning by the leadership and members of the party who were determined to ensure the party retained power in Ondo state.
Ododo stated, “We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa. He has been tested and can be trusted to continue the good work of the APC administration in Ondo state.
“We have no doubt that he will build on existing infrastructure development, social welfare and security of lives and property across the state.
“We are confident that he will succeed with this new mandate which is a further boost to the popularity and acceptance of the APC in Ondo state.”
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Sunday described Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s resounding victory as an affirmation of the people’s will and endorsement of his pro-people agenda.
In his congratulatory message, Abiodun emphasised that Aiyedatiwa’s victory was not only well-deserved but also a testament to the outstanding performance of the APC in the state.
He said, “This victory reflects the unwavering support of the people for our party’s vision and dedication.”
Abiodun also praised President Bola Tinubu for his exemplary democratic principles, noting, “Since taking office, President Tinubu has championed a level playing field in our electoral processes, ensuring a fair and transparent environment for all candidates.
“This victory not only signifies a milestone for Aiyedatiwa but also reinforces the APC’s stronghold in Ondo State, paving the way for continued progress and development.”
