Military, Cabal Involved in Oil Theft in Nigeria- Asari Dokubo Reveals
Niger Delta leader, Asari Dokubo, has levelled allegations against the Nigerian military, accusing them of being responsible for 99 percent of oil theft in the country.
Vondigest reports that Dokubo made these claims following a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential office on Friday.
During the meeting, the President reportedly assured Dokubo that he would thoroughly investigate the allegations of widespread oil bunkering orchestrated by influential naval commanders who act as key players in this illicit trade. Furthermore, Tinubu pledged to take decisive measures to end this disgraceful practice.
Dokubo emphasised the existence of influential factions operating from the capital city, Abuja, and proclaimed that these powerful entities have now met their match.
He asserted that a significant number of individuals would soon be making their way to KUJE.
Dokubo offered the assistance of his followers to combat this malevolence and put a stop to it. He expressed his willingness to utilise his group of loyal supporters, known as “his boys,” to take the necessary actions to halt these nefarious activities.
As of the time of reporting, a response from the military is still awaited.
