Many Feared Dead As Bomb Rocks Catholic Church In Ondo, Police confirm
Vondigest reports that suspected terrorists are said to have blown up St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to emerging reports gathered by this online platform, many worshippers have died and several others have been left injured following the explosion at the church which is situated close to the palace of the Olowo of Owo.
However, the Ondo State Police Command has confirmed an explosion at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in the Owo Local Government Area of the state.
When contacted by Daily Post, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Odunlami Ibukun confirmed the incident.
The PPRO, who spoke to our correspondent while at the scene of the explosion for an on-the-spot assessment, said details of the casualty would be communicated in a statement shortly.
She said, “we are currently at the scene of the incident to access damages made. It is not like what have been trending on social media. We will soon issue a statement to give you details of what happened.”
