Just In: Bauchi Lawmaker Dies Few Days To End of Tenure
The lawmaker representing Burra Constituency in Bauchi State, Hon. Ado Wakili has passed away.
Vondigest reports that the lawmaker, who had been battling a brief illness, succumbed to his condition merely three days before his tenure was set to conclude.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Suleiman Abubakar, on Friday.
In his heartfelt condolence message, Speaker Abubakar said the late Hon. Ado Wakili was not only a brother but also a reliable colleague and esteemed statesman. He further emphasised that the deceased was regarded as a paternal figure by all members of the House.
“In this time of profound sorrow, and with unwavering acceptance of the will of Almighty Allah, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman, the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, announces the untimely demise of Hon. Ado Wakili, the representative of Burra Constituency, after a period of illness. We mourn the loss of a fatherly figure, a colleague, and an invaluable partner precisely when his contributions were needed most by his Constituency, the Honorable House, and the entire State,” said Speaker Abubakar.
The statement concluded with a prayer for the departed soul, asking for divine forgiveness and a place in Jannatul Firdaus, the highest paradise.
The funeral prayers for the late lawmaker have been scheduled for today at 1:30 pm, to be held at Gwallaga Juma’ah Mosque in Bauchi.
