Governor Obaseki Set To Contest In The PDP Primaries For Edo Elections
Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State is currently at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for screening ahead of the governorship primary of Thursday.
The governor, who joined the party on Friday was granted waiver to contest the primary.
In a tweet on Saturday, Obaseki said he was being screened.
“I am currently being screened by the @OfficialPDPNig Screening Committee to participate in the Edo State Primary election scheduled for June 25, 2020,” he wrote.
Obaseki is set to contest the primaries alongside three other aspirants for the governorship ticket. They are Gideon Ikhine, Ogbeide Ihama, and Kenneth Imansuagbon.
It would be recalled that that Obaseki left his former party APC when he couldn’t contest for the party’s primaries on the grounds that he forged his school certificate.
