A group of men said to be kinsmen of former Rivers state governor, Peter Obi, has tendered a public apology to another former governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, over the comments made against him by Odili last December.
Odili and WIke have been in a war of words after Odili while speaking at the Christmas ballad organised by him in honour of the current Governor of Rivers, Sim Fubara and his family, said that Governor Fubara has summoned an unusual fortitude to confront the quest by Wike to capture Rivers State “Through ferocious, but unnecessary political war.
Reacting, Wike slammed Odili, saying he ‘brought Odili back to life, after his retirement into oblivion.’
While speaking at a function recently, the kinsmen said Wike should forgive Odili for his comments. According to them, Odili is aging and so his words should not be taken seriously by Wike.
‘’He doesn’t know what he is saying. Forgive him” they told Wike
Peter Odili was governor of Rivers State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007 while Wike was governor from 2015 to 2023.
