BREAKING: Buhari votes in Daura, publicly displays ballot papers and party he voted for
Vondigest reports that Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has voted at his polling unit in Daura, Katsina state for Saturday’s presidential election.
The president, who arrived the polling unit which is a working distance from his house, was accredited at about 10.07am.
President Buhari, in company of his wife, Aisha, after accreditation, collected the ballot papers and went into the cubicle to vote for candidates of their choice in the presidential and National Assembly elections.
The President is number 185 on the voters register for the polling unit while his wife Aisha is number 180.
The president voted at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yarn A ward.
Shortly after arrival at the polling unit, President Bihari handed over his voter’s card and within a few minutes, he was accredited using the Biometric Voter Accreditation System.
Yasir Daiyabu, the Presiding Officer for KOFAR Baru Polling Unit then handed over the ballot papers for both the Presidential and National Assembly elections to the Nigerian leader.
The president thereafter publicly displayed the ballot paper for people to see his choice of presidential candidate before putting it in the ballot box.
He made sure that cameras captured his ballot paper and the party he voted for in all the three ballot papers.
