Amotekun Corps capture suspected killers of Owo Massacre
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, dubbed “Amotekun Corps,” has announced the arrest of several suspects in connection with the terrorist attack on the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Vondigest reports.
The accused terrorists infiltrated the church on June 5, killing at least 40 attendees and wounded several others.
The Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye has said that the suspected killers of worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state have been arrested.
Adeleye said this in Akure the state capital, that the vehicle and of some weapons used by the suspected killers have been recovered by the security outfit.
Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun, announced on Thursday that several individuals had been apprehended in connection with the murder.
According to him, “we have arrested a number of those who perpetrated evil at the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo.
“We have also recovered the vehicle they used last after the deadly operation. We have also recovered some of their weapons.”
“They came on motorcycles and hijacked a Golf vehicle. We have successfully recovered the vehicle and will soon arrest all the killers”
He did not reveal the exact number of individuals captured, but he expressed confidence that all of the attackers of the place of worship would be apprehended.
