Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara Participates in High-Level Development Partners Roundtable on Economic and Financial Inclusion in Nigeria
Ambassador Dr. Engr. Kingsley Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, participated in a high-level meeting convened by the Office of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The meeting, titled “The Aso Accord 2024: Pathway to Inclusive Growth and Development Partnership for an Economically Empowered and Inclusive Nigeria,” focused on advancing economic and financial inclusion in Nigeria.
The roundtable brought together top dignitaries from the diplomatic community, high-ranking government officials, and financial sector leaders to discuss Nigeria’s ambitious goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Key discussions centered on strategies for promoting financial inclusion, fostering sustainable growth, and strengthening development partnerships to drive national prosperity.
Among the distinguished attendees were: H.E. Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia and Managing Director of Moniepoint Microfinance, Mr. Babatunde Olofin.
Ambassador Okwara’s presence highlighted the African Union Agenda 2063’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation and inclusive economic development. As a key advocate for Africa’s socio-economic transformation, he reinforced the importance of collaboration among African nations in realizing shared development goals.
“Economic and financial inclusion are fundamental pillars of sustainable development. The Aso Accord 2024 provides a strategic roadmap to ensure that economic opportunities are accessible to all, empowering individuals and businesses to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth,” stated Ambassador Okwara.
