African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly Visits Ugandan High Commission in Abuja to Strengthen Continental Collaboration
The African Union (AU) Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ugandan High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to advancing the “Africa We Want” vision.
Led by Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel, Head of Mission, and Amb. Dr. Engr Kingsley Okwara, Deputy Head of Mission, the delegation was warmly received by H.E. Philip Odida, Uganda’s High Commissioner to Nigeria. The meeting focused on key Agenda 2063 aspirations, emphasizing Africa’s development by Africans.
Discussions also covered preparations for the upcoming African Union Summit (April 6-11, 2025), held in Kampala Uganda, with the Assembly seeking assistance in venue selection for a strategic side event, hotel accommodations, and arranging a meeting with the Ugandan President and government officials to explore investment and business opportunities.
Additionally, the delegation proposed the establishment of a Mission House in Uganda to further strengthen AU engagement and highlighted the crucial role of peace and security in achieving the continent’s long-term development goals.
This high-level engagement underscores the Assembly’s dedication to fostering pan-African cooperation, investment, and sustainable development, paving the way for a more prosperous and united Africa.
