Popular Nollywood actor Gbenga Richards is dead (details)
Sadly, Vondigest reports that a veteran Actor, Gbenga Richards has been confirmed dead.
The main cause of his death is yet to be made public but this online platform recalls that in September 2021, Nollywood Actor, Emmanuel Ehumadu popularly known as Labista, had asked for financial support for the veteran actor.
On Labista’s post back in 2021, he said; “There are so many veteran Nollywood actors who are dying in silence. After there contributions to the growth of Nollywood and the nation, they end up in pain and penury over any illness.
Gbenga Richards need our help. Let’s not wait until he’s dead to post his pictures, write RIP(rest in peace) on his wall and look for who to blame.”
Back then Richards was reportedly suffering from diabetes and other related ailments. Some of his colleagues and friends had been soliciting funds to cater for his welfare.
Late Gbenga Richards is a renowned veteran actor in the Nollywood Industry.
The first appearance Richards made as an actor was to represent Nigeria with Hubert Ogunde at the Second World Black and African Festival of African Culture (FESTAC) in 1977.
He also featured in the blockbuster movies like Sango, Mirror in the Sun, Betrayal by Love, Fighting Machine. He was famous for his roles in 30 Days (2006), Darkest Night (2005) and Betrayed by Love (2004) and host of other movies.
Gbenga Richards was a Nollywood actor who had an intimidating voice with his exceptional acting skills.
He’s mostly known to play action roles and has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Nollywood Industry.
He was reportedly in his 60’s before his death.
