Covid-19: UK Scraps COVID-19 Test For Travellers, Others
United Kingdom has scraped COVID-19 test certificate from Nigerians and others traveling to the UK.
Vondigest reports that Nigerians entering the United Kingdom will no longer be required to show evidence of COVID-19 Test as a precondition for coming into the country.
The new order will take effect from Friday. March 18, 2022.
This online platform understands that this was revealed in a “Travel Abroad” advisory for visitors from other countries, which was posted on the UK Government’s website.
“As of 4 a.m. on March 18, if you are returning to England, you will not be required to take any COVID-19 tests, fill out a passenger locator form, or undergo quarantine.”
“18 March travel to England changes. If you arrive in England after 4 a.m. on Friday, March 18, you do not need to:
“Take any COVID-19 tests – before or after your trip.”
“Before you travel, complete a UK passenger locator form.”
“Whether you are vaccinated or not, this will apply to you.”
“You will also not be required to quarantine when you arrive, in accordance with current rules,” the advisory stated.
The same rule applies to visitors to Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
