Yagazie Foundation visits hanging village of Makoko distributes food, Mosquito and Fishing nets
Yagazie Foundation, a non governmental organisation successfully conducted a community outreach in the slums and hanging village of Makoko yesterday, 31st October, 2021.
From the observation VON noted during their first visit to the community, they realised that the villagers are battling with Moquitoes bites, hunger and low fishing business because of dilapidated canoes, fishing nets and baits.
As a result of this, Yagazie Foundation decided to provide them with necessary items that will help alleviate their terrible situation such as: fishing nets, Mosquitoes nets, food and water packs.
Yagazie Foundation could not provide them with canoes they needed to improve thier fishing business because they don’t have the financial capacity to purchase them at this time since they are very expensive to acquire.
However, Yagazie Foundation assured them that they could purchase the canoes, more fishing nets if given enough support from well-meaning individuals and groups.
They are therefore requesting for support from the government, international agencies, corporate organizations, financial insititutions, private bodies and individuals for support so that they can visit the community again and provide them with more of the following items below:
Fishing Nets
Mosquito Nets
Canoe
Cloths
Food Items
Household items
