“You Killed Ikonso and parades his body as if you won a war”- Father Mbaka fumes against Uzodinma
The situation of things in southeastern Nigeria has continued to get every peace-loving Nigerian worried. As it seems, the southeastern part of Nigeria which used to be a peaceful region has suddenly turned into a troubled region.
As it seems, the activities of kidnappers, unknown gunmen, ESN have continued to get everyone perturbed. Residents of the said region are beginning to fret over the activities of unknown men who are going about causing havoc on daily basis.
Although the government is expected to restore peace through dialogue, its efforts have however left many Nigerians asking a lot of questions.
If you recall, a certain IPOB commander, Don Ikonso was killed by the police a few days ago. According to reports, the young man was killed after engaging the police in a fierce gun battle in Oru Local Government, Imo state. He was later killed alongside six other IPOB members.
Although this is the report from the police, IPOB has however refuted this report. The IPOB group stressed that Ikonso didn’t engage the police in any fierce gun battle. They argued that the young man was ambushed and killed. They stressed that he was betrayed by friends who gave out his information to security agents.
Days, after Ikonso was killed by the Nigerian police, a well-respected man of God identified as Rev Father Ejike Mbaka has reacted to his death. According to Mbaka, the killing of Ikonso is unjustifiable. He chides the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodinma for what he did. He also blamed him for not taking good care of Imolites as he promised on the altar of God.
Here is what he said, “You went and killed Ikonso and was parading his body as if you have won a war. Why not go and kill poverty and unemployment. You think killing our youths is the solution?” he fumed.
This has however attracted much attention as many people are reacting to it. The majority thinks that this is indeed good advice coming from the popular man of God. They however advised all those committing atrocities in Imo State to change before it is too late for them.
