Imo commissioner, member House of Representatives escape assassination [PHOTOS]
Vondigest reports that Imo State Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Simon Ebegbulem and the member representing Okigwe South federal constituency, Chike Okafor, on Thursday escaped assassination by some ‘Unknown Gunmen’.
This online platform learned that the attack happened around 6:30 PM at Alike near Okata community in Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, just after a rally of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Also attacked was the Managing Director (MD) of the Imo State Waste Management Agency, Kelechi Emeakaroha.
This online newspaper gathered that the politicians’ vehicles were riddled with bullets.
This incident comes as Nigerians prepare for presidential and parliamentary elections on Saturday.
Efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, were unsuccessful as he could not be reached via phone as of the time of publishing this report.
