9 Dead As Bomb Explosion Rocks Borno
At least nine people have reportedly been killed after a bomb exploded in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, Vondigest reports.
This online platform learnt that the incident happened on Monday afternoon.
The victims were scrap metal scavengers who reside in Government Girls Secondary School Bama, which is now an internally displaced persons’ camp.
Details of the explosion is still sketchy as of the time of publishing this report.
Bama is 68 kilometers from Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital.
In a piece of related news, the Nigerian military said it discovered and removed over 150 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by terrorists while troops were on the trail of Boko Haram and its splinter group, the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno.
Theatre Commander, Joint Military Task Force North East, Operation Hardin Kai, Maj Gen Christopher Musa disclosed this in a remark in Maiduguri, Borno State during the presentation of medical equipment to troops in the area by the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
