Twenty years love story! Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lopez Wed In Las Vegas
Finally, long time lovers, in a late-night drive-through chapel in Las Vegas, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married on Saturday, capping a relationship that lasted for two decades, included two different romances, and made numerous tabloid covers.
Vondigest reports that the couple’s marriage was revealed by Lopez on Sunday in her fan email under the heading “We did it.” Lopez first announced their engagement on the same newsletter, “On the J Lo,” in April.
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” wrote Lopez in a message signed Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Lopez wrote that the couple flew to Las Vegas on Saturday, stood in line for their license with four other couples and were wed just after midnight at the Little White Chapel, a chapel boasting a drive-through “tunnel of love.” Lopez said a Bluetooth speaker played their brief march down the aisle. She called it the best night of their lives.
“Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with,” said Lopez.
The couple’s marriage was announced for the first time on Sunday after the Clark County Clerk’s office in Nevada revealed that their marriage license had been processed on Saturday. According to the marriage license application, Lopez intends to adopt the name Jennifer Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck’s representatives declined to respond.
The early 2000s relationship between Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, that gave rise to the moniker “Bennifer,” was rekindled this year. They previously appeared together in the films Gigli (2003) and Jersey Girl (2004). They got engaged around that time, but they never got married.
In 2005, Affleck wed Jennifer Garner; they have three kids together. In 2018, they got divorced.
The morning after their nuptials, the bride shared a selfie in bed wearing her new wedding ring.
The pair met on the set of the movie Gigli in 2002, and got engaged in 2003, but broke it off the following year, blaming “excessive media attention”.
News of the couple getting back together last year sent fans into a spin, as they publicly displayed their rekindled love on social media.
Since getting back together, they have regularly posted photos and videos online of romantic holidays and moments with their families – prompting fans to reactivate the couple’s former portmanteau nickname Bennifer.
This is Lopez’s fourth marriage. She was married to singer Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014 and they have twins together.
